Samuel Crawley was a school teacher at Catlin Gabel in Portland, OR.

Crawley’s primary role was as an English teacher from 1973 to 1984.

An internal investigation by Catlin Gabel surfaced allegations of sex abuse against Crawley.

According to the School’s report, Crawley touched, fondled, and had sexual intercourse/relationships with several Catlin Gabel students.

During an overnight trip, Crawley fondled a student as they were going to sleep at told her, “I’m so attracted to you, but we can’t have sex until you are 18.” When the student turned 18—and was still a student at Catlin Gabel–they began a sexual relationship and Crawley would buy the student alcohol, according to the School’s report.

In the 1980s, Crawley had other sexual relationships with other female students according to the School’s report.
