LILLINGTON, N.C. —A former youth group leader and baseball coach with ties to the Carolinas has been arrested on 40 sex charges and now authorities are looking for more possible victims, according to a news release from the FBI.
FBI officials said Ronald Keith Black Sr., 69, of Lillington, North Carolina was arrested on April 29.
Black is charged with 29 counts of first-degree sexual offense and 12 counts of indecent liberties with a minor after a lengthy investigation into the sharing of child pornography over the Internet, officials said.
During the investigation, officials said allegations against Black were made claiming he had sexually abused several juveniles as early as the late 1980s until about 2006. They said it is believed there may be additional victims that either have not been identified or haven’t been located. Those who believe they may be victim are encouraged to come forward, officials said.
The Charlotte Division of the FBI, the Raleigh Police Department, and the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office are seeking to identify more victims.
Officials said Black has connections to the Lillington, and White Lake areas in North Carolina, as well as an unknown location in Tennessee, and in the Florence area in South Carolina.
Black was a youth group leader at a Baptist Church in the 80s and is believed to have been a baseball coach at one point, FBI officials said.
