The man participated in disturbing photography and videography featuring young boys, the DA said.
An employee at a Melville day camp was charged in a 112-count indictment in connection to sexually abusing an 11-year-old boy and possessing a “massive” collection of child pornography, Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota announced Wednesday.
Keith Meyn, 34, of Oakdale, pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Suffolk County court to the indictment that claimed he used the young boy in sexual performances and possessed child pornography that featured boys younger than 16 years of age, the DA said.
Meyn was employed at Camp Kenwal in Melville as a group leader, camp counselor and most recently served as the director of maintenance activities. He has been participating in illegal activities involving children for more than a decade, the DA said.
The investigation allegedly revealed Meyn was previously associated with a film company called Psych Ward Films and the modeling agencies Camden Enterprises and StoneAge Enterprise.
“[Meyn] participated in disturbing photography and videography featuring young boys,” Spota said. The DA says Spota believes there are more of Meyn’s victims out there, and they are encouraged to come forward even if the crimes happened years ago.
“In some cases, depending on the facts, a prosecution may still be possible, and all of the information we can gather will be helpful to the investigation,” Spota said.
Victims and others with knowledge helpful to the investigation are urged to call the Suffolk County Police Department Computer Crimes Unit at (631) 852-6279. All calls will remain confidential.
The indictment, which was unsealed Wednesday, charged Meyn with:
- Three counts of first-degree criminal sexual act
- Three counts of use of a child in a sexual performance as a sexually motivated felony
- Three counts of first-degree sexual abuse
- Three counts of endangering the welfare of a child
- 100 counts of possessing a sexual performance of a child
Meyn’s bail was set at $250,000 cash or $500,000 bond. He faces 50 years in state prison if convicted of all charges.
