Boy Scout Abuse

Did you know Brooklyn Scout Leader Robert Kelly?

By August 22, 2019 No Comments

Robert J. Kelly was the Scoutmaster for Troop 203 which served the Flatbush District in Brooklyn, New York.

In 1964, Kelly’s unit investigated allegations that he had molested a scout during a winter camping trip. The investigation found that Kelly had molested multiple children at Scouting events over several years.  In interviews with Kelly’s victims during the investigation, they each attested that Kelly abused them while they were sleeping in their tents. Later, the Boy Scouts opened a “Perversion File” (also called an Ineligible Volunteer file) on Kelly and forced him to resign.
