Shawn Remington has been in a Michigan jail since his arrest on child sexual abuse charges in August 2012. He is scheduled to be sentenced to prison for 18-30 years in January 2014 after agreeing to a deal with prosecutors.

According to Evening News in Monroe, “Monroe police reported the investigation into the sexual assault case began when a girl who was seven years old at the time, told her parents that the man who was a family friend was assaulting her for some time. As the investigation continued, other victims came forward. There were a total of five known victims said Monroe County Assistant Prosecutor Amara Hunter. Police officials said the victims were known to Mr. Remington. At the time he was married and worked as an apartment manager in Monroe where he lived. Monroe County Prosecutor William P. Nichols has said that the defendant also was involved with a Boy Scout troop but none of the victims who have come forward were Scouts.”

If you or someone you know was molested by Shawn Remington, please contact local law enforcement as soon as possible.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE

Empowering Change

“We give victims the support they need to stand up and speak the truth to some of the largest and most revered institutions in the world. These survivors are the ones putting a stop to patterns of abuse and cover-up. They are the ones protecting the next generations. They are the heroes. I am honored to work with them”
