Did You Know Wayne Baldwin?
We are looking for information about a Portland, Oregon Boy Scout volunteer named Wayne Baldwin. Baldwin was born in 1920. This photo of Baldwin was taken in approximately 1938. He died in Oregon in 2001.
Baldwin was the Scoutmaster of Portland Troop 117 and Troop 130 during the 1960s and 1970s — possibly even earlier or later. Before that, he worked as a field executive for the BSA in Idaho. He was awarded the Silver Beaver award from the Boy Scouts of America.
Troop No. 117 was sponsored by the Men’s Club of the Rose City Park United Methodist Church, located at NE 58th Avenue & Alameda, off of Sandy Blvd.
Troop No. 130 was chartered in 1965 for blind and visually-impaired Scouts, and was sponsored by the Parkrose Lions Club.
Baldwin was a mail carrier and a little league coach, as well as a Boy Scouts volunteer.
