Woman: When she was 7, molested by teen at E. Salem Seventh Day Adventist Church
Associated Press – September 5, 2007
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A 23-year-old Oregon woman says she was sexually molested multiple times as a 7-year-old girl while attending the East Salem Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Kelly Clark of the Portland law firm O’Donnell and Clark, says the offender at the time was a 15-year-old boy who attended the same congregation.
The 15-year old boy is accused of committing sexual acts against the young girl over the course of about one year.
Clark found that the boy was under a juvenile court mandate to have no contact with children. Clark says the church should have known that.
According to Clark, the teenager had a good deal of access to the girl, despite his criminal record.
An attorney representing the East Salem Seventh Day Adventist Church says they will thoroughly review the case before making any further comments.
