Prineville Boy Scout Leader James Allen Wilson Arrested on Charges of Sexual Abuse of a Boy
A former Prineville Boy Scout Troop 28 scoutmaster was booked into the Deschutes County Jail after an arrest warrant was issued after a Klamath County grand jury indicted him on sexual abuse charges against a boy.
According to KTVZ News in Bend, James Wilson, 36, is the IT manager for the City of Prineville, and was later released “after posting 10 percent of his $150,000 bail” on two counts of first-degree sexual abuse and four counts of third-degree sexual abuse against one boy. He was put on paid administrative leave immediately after the city found out about his arrest.
According to the Bend Bulletin newspaper, “His association with the Boy Scouts ended after the [Oregon State Police] investigation began. ”
Wilson was also involved as a leader at the BSA Camp Makualla in the Crater lake Council. This property resides in Klamath County, the place from which his indictment was issued.
Rarely do these child sexual abusers have only one victim. They often continue to abuse multiple children over the course of decades, and the KTVZ report noted that “investigators believe there may be other victims.”
