Former Connecticut Boy Scouts leader and Thompson Zoning Board of Appeals member, David Kress, was arrested this week on charges of sexually assaulting kids over the past 20 years.
According to a Hartford Courant news article, “Victims reported to police that Kress, who had been leader of a Boy Scout troop, had sexually assaulted them during Boy Scout events, at his home and at his place of work, state police said. The victims were between the age of 11 and 16 at the time.”
The Boy Scouts of America have traditionally kept confidential files, also nicknamed the “perversion files,” on any Boy Scouts leader or volunteer who were charged with or convicted of inappropriate conduct with children, including sexual abuse or exploiting Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Explorer Scouts and Sea Scouts. Recently, those files were made public.
According to NBC Connecticut, “Kress was released on a $100,000 bond and is due in court Nov. 5.”
