Central Catholic Football Coach Jon Taylor Was Previously Investigated by Police for Sending Lewd Photos to Parkrose High School Student
Attorney Peter Janci of O’Donnell Clark & Crew law firm spoke with both KATU News and the Willamette Week about the recent discovery that yet another Central Catholic High football coach had been investigated by police for alleged sexual misdeeds.
According to the Willamette Week’s Beth Slovic, Taylor was initially investigated after police were alerted to lewd photos of his penis that Taylor texted to a developmentally-disabled Parkrose High School student while he worked there as an educational aide.
Two days after police contacted Taylor regarding this incident, he quit his job at Parkrose. Two months later, he was hired to work on the Central Catholic coaching staff.
This news comes right on the heels of a previous scandal for the Central Catholic football team. Another one of their coaches, Patrick Jay Wallace, has been fired only after reports came out that he had been previously fired from David Douglas High School in 1997 for allegedly sexually abusing a female student on the girls softball team that he coached.
KATU News asked Attorney Peter Janci his opinions on schools allowing employees with questionable sexual histories to continue working with kids.
“If there’s any question at all that kids might be at risk, then we err on the side of protecting kids … If there’s any question that someone might be a threat, we remove that person. We don’t give them a second chance. We don’t leave them in a position where they might hurt someone.” Janci stated.
Janci, along with the rest of our litigation team, is a staunch advocate for sexual abuse survivors’ rights and is often asked to give his professional opinion regarding various sexual abuse issues.
