Coach molested five teen boys: No contest plea to sex abuse, lewd act

A former volunteer football coach at a Highland Park high school pleaded no contest Thursday to sex-related charges involving five boys.

Jaime Jimenez, 48, of Los Angeles, pleaded no contest to two felony counts each of continuous sexual abuse and lewd act on a child 14 to 15 years old and one count of misdemeanor sexual battery, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Jimenez was removed from his post at Franklin High School, Los Angeles Unified School District officials said after his April 2015 arrest.

The crimes — which occurred between August 2002 and December 2014 — did not happen on school grounds, according to Deputy District Attorney Reinhold Mueller.

The charges involved five boys between 13 to 16 years old at the time.

He is facing 36 years and two months in prison, with sentencing set Jan. 13 in a downtown Los Angeles courtroom.

Jimenez also is expected to be ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
