Former Boy Scout Leader David Brian Watkins Gets 30 Year Prison Sentence for Sexually Abusing Boys
Former Keswick, Virginia Boy Scout Troop 1028 Leader David Brian Watkins was sentenced on Friday April 25 to thirty years in prison for sexually abusing boys.
According to an article by Jaclyn Piermarini , back in January, the 51 year-old man plead guilty to 36 charges of “forcible sodomy, statutory rape, and taking indecent liberties with a child.”
Although Watkins was more or less described by some friends and former scouts as a “generous, caring leader,” the prosecutor in the case painted a different portrait of him.
“Clearly this man did everything he could to hide and present a façade of trust,” said Albemarle County Deputy Commonwealth Attorney Darby Lowe.
