Brandon Scott Cordero faces multiple rape charges after being arrested in Utah for the alleged attacks that occurred between November 2010 and December 2012.  Cordero has entered not guilty pleas to the rape charges.

According to media reports in the Salt Lake City Tribune, “In court papers, Davis County prosecutors contend the 20-year-old from Kaysville attempted to have sex with the girl multiple times between Nov. 23, 2010, and May 31, 2012, by placing his penis in or near her vagina. . . The alleged abuse took place prior to Cordero serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, church spokesman Scott Trotter said in a prepared statement.”

Of course, this makes one wonder if Cordero had been screened prior to his acceptance as a Mormon missionary or if he had had any other similar allegations prior to the criminal charges brought against him.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE

Empowering Change

“We give victims the support they need to stand up and speak the truth to some of the largest and most revered institutions in the world. These survivors are the ones putting a stop to patterns of abuse and cover-up. They are the ones protecting the next generations. They are the heroes. I am honored to work with them”
