Former New Jersey Scout Leader Indicted for Child Pornography and Exploitation of Children

Gerrett Conover, 48, of Woolwich Township, has been in federal custody since last September on one charge of receiving images of child sex abuse.  The new indictment includes charges of disseminating child pornography and the exploitation of two young boys.

According to one media outlet, “According to prosecutors, Conover was crossing the Canadian border into New York when customs discovered child porn on a laptop computer. A search of his home turned up several computers and additional images of children masturbating and having sex, according to the indictment. Conover served as a Scout Master for Troop #284, based at the Wayne Presbyterian Church in Radnor from 1999 to 2001, according to reports.”

Conover was not listed in last year’s release of the Boy Scouts Perversion Files since these criminal allegations occurred after the period covered by the Perversion Files.  It should be disturbing to all of us concerned with the protection and welfare of children that this criminal behavior continues and the Perversion Files may be just the tip of the iceberg.
