Hawaii’s Prominent Former Kamehameha School Psychiatrist, Dr. Robert Browne, Accused of Molesting Countless Boys

A former Hawaii school counselor for the Kamehameha Schools, Dr. Robert Browne, used his position with the school to gain access to boys and sexually assault and molest them, according to a recent report by Hawaii News Now.

15 former students of the school gave their accounts of the abuse they endured at the hands of the late Dr. Browne, with some noting more than 100 individual occasions of sexual abuse by Browne.

According to the men, all in their 40s and 50s, they are suing the school and St. Francis Hospital in Honolulu for subjecting the students repeatedly to this psychiatrist in their employ.

Hawaii News Now reporter Rick Daysog likened this scenario to the “Penn State sex abuse scandal and Catholic priest molestation cases,”  in which children were blindly put into harm’s way, despite prior reports of that person being a pedophile.

Luckily, with increased reporting of these predators to law enforcement and through civil cases such as this, our society will stop allowing these organizations to allow serial sexual predators from abusing innocent kids.
