Lincoln City sports coach investigated for sexual abuse

A 22-year-old man known in the Lincoln City area as a coach of youth basketball, football and baseball has been arrested on suspicion of sexual abuse, authorities said Saturday.
Tyler William Lopez of Lincoln City was booked Friday into the Lincoln City Jail on two counts of display of child/sexual conduct, one count of first-degree sex abuse and four counts of second-degree sex abuse, the Lincoln City Police Department said in a news release issued Saturday afternoon.
Lopez is expected to be arraigned at 1:15 p.m. Monday in Lincoln County District Court. Additional accusations are possible, the news release says.
The department said it has “notified … several Lincoln City parents of possible sex abuse crimes involving juveniles in the Lincoln City area.”
Lincoln City police asked that potential victims or witnesses who have not already spoken with investigators about Lopez contact them at 541-994-3636 regarding case number 17-400.
