Oregon City man sentenced to 16 years in prison for sexually abusing child

OREGON CITY, OR – An Oregon City man was sentenced to 16 years in prison for sexually abusing a child.
Detectives began investigating sexual assault reports involving 34-year-old Michael Scott Morris in November 2015.
Police said the victim was 13-years-old when the abuse began and continued over an extended period of time.
Morris was indicted by a grand jury in August 2016. He pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges of second-degree rape, second-degree sodomy and two counts of first-degree sexual abuse.
He was then sentenced to 16 years in prison.
During the investigation, detectives said they did not identify any other victims of Morris.
