Raphael Yug of Salem charged with multiple counts of first-degree sex abuse

Raphael YugA Salem man was formally charged with two counts of first-degree sex abuse and one count of first-degree unlawful sexual penetration after police say he repeatedly inappropriately touched and violated a girl under the age of 14.

Raphael Kengim Yug, 36, was arraigned August 24, 2015 before Marion County Circuit Judge Channing Bennett, who set bail at $200,000.

Court documents indicate that the alleged abuse took place in Marion County between June 1, 2014, and August 21, 2015. A trial is scheduled to begin April 19.

On January 1st, additional charges of first-degree sexual abuse and first-degree criminal mistreatment were entered into the Marion County court record.

In the second case, Yug is accused of touching an intimate part of a girl under the age of 14, who is not involved in the other case. The alleged abuse occurred between June 1, 2014 and August 21, 2015. He’s also accused of physically injuring the girl between January 1 and June 30, 2015.

An arraignment on the additional charges has not yet been scheduled.
