The Marshalls Creek, PA choir director  Kenneth Bernard Schade who founded a popular local boys’ choir is facing over 1,100 counts of possessing child pornography along with charges of sexually abusing and raping a boy.

Pennsylvania State Police recovered two locked suitcases containing 1,101 pictures of children performing illegal sexual acts.

According to Scranton’s WNEP News, when the 74 year-old Schade was taken into custody on sexual abuse charges, he called neighbor Shari Revilla and asked her to store two of his suitcases in “a safe place.”

When state troopers were unable to find the suitcases in his home, Revilla told them the suitcases were in her shed.

“Institutions of trust” like this well-known choir can offer pedophiles and predators a place where they can gain seemingly limitless access to kids.

“We give victims the support they need to stand up and speak the truth to some of the largest and most revered institutions in the world. These survivors are the ones putting a stop to patterns of abuse and cover-up. They are the ones protecting the next generations. They are the heroes. I am honored to work with them”
