A Thank You From A Sexual Assault Survivor
Last week, we received a very thoughtful thank you note from one of our clients. She suffered a severe sexual assault as a young adult as the result of negligence by an institution in her community. We had the privilege of representing her in bringing a legal claim. Through this process, she was able to learn the truth about the institution’s many failures and obtain acknowledgement of the terrible harms she suffered. We were able to successfully obtain significant compensation to help her as she continues to deal with the traumas she suffered. In this process, we had the honor of watching her grow in courage and strength – holding those responsible accountable and making her community a safer place. She – the survivor — is the hero in this story. We were honored to walk along side her in the process.
With her permission, here is her note (with portions removed to protect her identity):
Dear Crew Janci lawyers and staff,
I cannot thank you enough . . . . I have had to deal with a traumatizing event that happened to me in silence for so long. I had no idea that a legal course of action could even be taken in my situation. Thank you for representing me well, always being communicative, helpful and most of all my advocates. I would also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to your staff . . . [they] were amazing, empathetic and incredibly kind to me.
. . . . You and your staff are highly efficient, informative, and uphold high standards of ethics and integrity. . . .
I am so grateful to have had you all by my side during this process. You have made an incredible impact in my life and I thank you for that from the bottom of my heart.
Sincerely,
[A Grateful Survivor]
