New Lawsuit Filed

Alex Blevins worked for the Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) at Oak Creek Correctional Facility as a Group Life Coordinator from 2009 until 2014. According to a recently filed lawsuit, Blevins is alleged to have sexually abused a youth incarcerated at Oak Creek on at least ten occasions. The abuse reportedly began in 2009, when the youth was sixteen years old. Blevins allegedly abused the victim during one-on-one supervision when she was in the “safe room.” According to the victim, the abuse involved skin-on-skin groping and fondling of her breasts and genitals by Blevins, as well as forced masturbation. The abuse ended in 2011 when the victim was transferred to a different OYA facility. Police records corroborate the victim’s assertion that she reported Blevins’ abuse to Oregon State Police in 2011.

According to the lawsuit, three years later in 2014, Blevins was fired from his position at OYA for “creating an unprofessional and hostile work environment and for his dishonesty during the investigation,” regarding his misconduct. This was allegedly related to complaints from female staff members of sexually inappropriate comments and conduct by Blevins.
