SALEM — A Salem-Keizer teacher arrested in June on sexual abuse charges involving a student is facing additional charges for allegedly abusing a second student under the age of 14.
The Statesman-Journal reports 40-year-old Shane Ross of Turner was the girls’ coach during the time of the alleged crimes.
In the June arrest, Marion County prosecutors charged him with nine counts of sexual abuse and one count of unlawful sexual penetration from alleged assaults from 2009-2015. The girl was under 18, but the abuse allegedly began when she was younger than 14.
Ross was charged this week for abuse of a second student from 2001-2005.
Before Ross was placed on paid administrative leave March 6, he taught at five Salem-Keizer schools for more than 17 years.
He’s now being held on $1 million bail.
