Bio

Crew Janci partner Peter B. Janci has dedicated nearly two decades to fearlessly advocating for survivors of sexual abuse. Representing hundreds of victims, Peter stands up against large, powerful institutions, including the Catholic Church, the Mormon Church, the Boy Scouts of America, and government entities at federal, state, and local levels.

Peter’s advocacy for sexual abuse survivors began in 2005 when he met his mentor, the late Kelly Clark, a founding partner of O’Donnell Clark & Crew LLP. In 2006, he co-authored a significant scholarly article, “Of Compelling Interest: The Intersection of Religious Freedom and Civil Liability in the Priest Sex Abuse Cases,” published in the Oregon Law Review.

In 2010, Peter was part of the plaintiff’s trial team in the landmark case Kerry Lewis v. Boy Scouts of America, resulting in a $19.9 million verdict. He has extensive courtroom experience, successfully handling jury trials, bench trials, arbitrations, and mediations. Peter is also recognized for securing numerous significant settlements for survivors.

Peter partnered with Stephen Crew in 2015 to establish Crew Janci, continuing Clark’s legacy and focusing solely on advocating for victims of sexual abuse and other serious crimes.

Beyond traditional legal practice, Peter actively advocates for legislative changes to enhance protections and access to justice for survivors. He frequently speaks and writes on sexual abuse, mandatory reporting, victims’ rights, and child protection issues. His insights have been featured nationally, including in the Associated Press, the New York Times, and other leading media outlets.

In addition to his dedicated work representing survivors of sexual abuse, Peter selectively handles other serious personal injury cases involving catastrophic injuries, psychiatric malpractice, and wrongful death, consistently prioritizing his clients’ healing and dignity.

“My great honor and privilege in representing victims of sexual abuse and other crimes is to watch the positive transformation that takes place when victims accept that it wasn’t their fault and that they deserve to be respected and protected."

"We give victims the support they need to stand up and speak the truth to some of the largest institutions in the world. These survivors are the ones putting a stop to patterns of abuse and cover-up. They are the ones protecting the next generations.” They are the heroes. I am honored to work with them.”
