Four men, including a former Huntsville, Alabama Boy Scouts staff member and volunteer, are currently being tried in federal court for their alleged roles in an international child pornography ring that involved other men and the distribution of millions of images of underage children.

According toWHNT19 News, James “Jim” McCullars, a former Boy Scout employee and University of Alabama IT worker, is facing trial in Indiana on charges that he and 11 other men conspired “to make videos of children being molested and distribute them to the group.”  It is also alleged that some of the pornography was actually made inside McCullars’ home.

Brian Lawson of Al.com reported that Huntsville Deputy Boy Scouts Executive Tim Molepke noted that McCullars’ membership was revoked following his initial 2012 arrest.

This reminds us of a similar Boy Scouts employee, Douglas Sovereign Smith, who was convicted of possessing and distributing child pornography and spent seven years behind bars.  He was the Boy Scouts of America’s former national director for youth protection.  You can read about his case here.
